Quote terms & conditions
Last updated 14 October 2026
Draft: this page is still being checked and may change before the site launches.
These terms apply to every quote from Custom Wood Built (Ronan Wood, ABN 35 651 955 984, building work contractor’s licence pending) unless the quote or a signed contract says otherwise.
1. Quotes
- Quotes are free and valid for 30 days from the date they’re sent.
- Prices are fixed for the scope described in the quote. Section prices are shown before GST; the total includes GST.
- The quote is based on what can be seen at the measure. If hidden problems turn up (for example rot, termite damage or non-compliant existing work), we’ll stop, show you, and agree a variation before going further.
2. Accepting a quote
You accept by signing online through your job page, or in writing. For domestic building work above the threshold set by South Australian law, we’ll also provide a written contract, the required consumer building information and evidence of building indemnity insurance before taking any payment.
3. Deposits and payments
- A deposit is due when you accept. For domestic building work it never exceeds the limits set by the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA).
- Larger jobs may have progress payments, invoiced only for work completed.
- The balance is invoiced when the work is finished. Invoices are due within 7 days.
- Pay by bank transfer or by card. There’s no card surcharge.
4. Variations
Any change to the scope, whether you ask for it or it’s needed because of something unforeseen, is priced and sent to you to approve in writing before the work is done. Approved variations are added to the final invoice.
5. Timing
We’ll give you an expected start date and duration. Weather, material supply and other trades can affect timing; we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
6. Site and access
Please give us safe access to the work area and let us know about anything we should know (pets, alarms, hidden services). We’ll keep the site tidy and clean up when we’re done.
7. Warranty
12-month workmanship warranty, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA).
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Cancelling
If you cancel after accepting, you’ll pay for work done and materials ordered for your job that can’t be returned. Your cooling-off and other rights under South Australian law are not affected.
9. Questions or problems
Talk to us first: [email protected]. We’ll always try to sort it out directly.
